The opportunity

Our Liquids Pipeline Operations Engineering team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business.  As the Manager, Operations Program Implementation, you will lead a team to deliver on our operational program.  Program planning and management will be key elements in contributing to the successful delivery of operational project programs. 

Providing both clear direction that aligns and evolved with the needs of the business will be important success factors in this role.  Ensuring deliverables are well defined, priorities and scope are diligently managed and field operations have adequate engagement will be provided through your leadership in this role.

As a leader, you will lead with our core values and continue to develop and implement opportunities for our staff and customers, to ensure the safe and reliable operations of our systems and assets.

 

What you’ll do

  • Lead a team to ensure that program planning and execution aligns with business units needs
  • Oversee Field and Operations Engineers to optimize field operation support
  • Develop team members and continuously increase team effectiveness
  • Understand stakeholder needs and take actions for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate to ensure business needs are prioritized and assessed appropriately
  • Ensure projects are adequately planned for execution excellence
  • Understand and manage program risks, cost and performance
  • Track performance and provide accurate forecasting and variance explanations
  • Ensure alignment between Commercial, Field Operations, Systems and Engineering

 
Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed a post-secondary degree in engineering
  • Ten (10) years of demonstrated related experience
  • Financial acumen and budget development experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability in collaboration, driving results, and leading change
  • Align goals with strategic direction and achieving targeted business results
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide strategic direction for the team
  • High ownership and track record of delivering on commitments

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Operations Experience
  • Engineering Degree
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team
  • Positive attitude rooted in our core values of Safety, Integrity, Collaboration and Responsibility.

 

Additional role requirements

Registration as a P.Eng. in the province of Alberta
