The Opportunity

TC Energy’s Facilities Integrity & Reliability Engineering team in Canadian Gas Operations Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the team. The Facility Integrity & Reliability Engineering team is responsible for the engineering integrity and reliability of TC Energy’s facilities and assets across Canada.

 

What you'll do

  • Develop and update company integrity plans, design standards and maintenance planning procedures
  • Assist in development of risk management tools and processes in conjunction with risk-based asset management strategies
  • Ensure TC Energy’s facilities are maintained in accordance with all applicable regulations and are reflective of good engineering practice
  • Provide integrity planning and engineering support for TC Energy's facilities
  • Optimize maintenance practices to ensure lowest total life cycle costs
  • Provide innovative engineering solutions to help resolve operating and maintenance issues
  • Assist with the development, justification, escalation, and risk/cost analysis of maintenance capital projects
  • Provide technical support to day-to-day operations of TC Energy’s gas facilities
  • Participating in hazard analysis and risk assessment on process safety critical equipment
  • Ensuring compliance to design and construction specifications and standards
  • Application of engineering principles, codes, and standards to identify issues, recommend improvements and implement solutions


Minimum Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering understanding on electrical systems on the design, operation and maintenance of natural gas transmission pipeline systems
  • Understanding of applicable industry Codes and Standards related to electrical safety (e.g. CSA Z662, CSA C22.1, NFPA 70, IEC 60364)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent Technologist Certification recognized by APEGA including registration as a professional
  • 5-7 years of progressive engineering experience in the field of electrical engineering.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to be able to work with company stakeholders across North America with different backgrounds and priorities
  • Understand and utilize TC Energy’s Management System approach to integrity and risk
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, manage, and prioritize work. Due to the diverse and demanding business requirements within TC Energy, candidates must be technically flexible, learn quickly, and be able to provide a high degree of quality work which is consistent and meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Willingness to travel within North America for limited periods of time
  • Knowledge of TC Energy’s Engineering practices and procedures
