Do you want to be part of a highly motivated and professional team tasked with credit risk management of marketing and trading activities for Supply Trading & Optimization (ST&O) and providing performance risk recommendations to the Supply Chain Management group (SCM)?  If you are excited to expand your skills, and delve into analysis on the financial position of counterparties, recommend credit limits to manage the collateral position of the company, this role may be for you!

You will use your expertise to:

• Measure, monitor and mitigate Suncor’s credit and performance risk for the STO and SCM business
• Ensure that credit documents are in place and provide the maximum amount of credit protection available  
• Build strong relationships with the STO and SCM teams
• Provide consistent and proficient back up to members of the Credit Risk Management team in reporting and completion of credit reviews
• Maintain a strong network of credit professionals and corporate finance professionals in the North American energy industry

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

• Three years of experience with risk management in the energy industry
• Bachelor of Finance Degree or related education
• Knowledge of energy industry and credit risk management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Emerging industry network with both credit and risk professionals
• The ability to analyze complex sets of data, and problem solve independently
• A high level of intellectual curiosity for understanding credit and risk , finance, and commerce
• Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

• Experience with credit risk management
• An active pursuit of your Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
• Detail orientation and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

• You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
• Flexibility in work hours required as a U.S. based holiday calendar is followed
