In this role, you will bring innovation experiments to completion through the management of technologies, interfaces and partnerships. Working in open collaboration as an advisor to senior internal stakeholders and the external innovation ecosystem, you will support us in determining innovative solutions to complex strategic business problems.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Utilize your strong analytical skills to evaluate ideas and apply our methods to solve problems
  • Co-create in a customer centric design process by defining problems, researching and generating ideas, and exploring possibilities to design and build prototypes
  • Focus on innovation initiatives and stand-up activities to increase maturity of innovation across the organization
  • Engage a diverse community of internal and external partners in problem-solving activities, building breakthrough, out-of-the-ordinary solutions to major challenges
  • Be responsible for Resourcing and Resource Planning, including gaining the business’s commitment in regards to activities, locations, people and data
  • Ensure the innovation labs are keeping pace and decisions are being made, while holding teams accountable to follow the processes in place
  • Manage vendor performance

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Seven years of experience in a similar role, including some exposure to people leadership accountabilities, and ideally with four to five years in IT/business roles
  • A post-secondary education in a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project), MS SharePoint, and data management/visualization tools
  • Strong business acumen, excellent written and verbal communication skills supported by active listening behaviors, and a keen ability to influence
  • A critical thinking attitude that allows you to be flexible and adaptable in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous environment
  • A desire for the ongoing pursuit of lifelong learning and a continuous self-improvement mindset which enables you to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • An MBA or equivalent post graduate degree
  • Exposure to working within a Digital Transformation environment

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
