Do you want to provide a meaningful impact by leading an engaged team and partnering with finance and non-finance teams to ensure Suncor’s stewardship and supporting accounting records are accurate?  In this role you will lead a team of finance professionals who operate as the financial governance for one of Suncor’s key joint ventures, the Fort Hills asset.

 You will use your expertise to:

  • Prepare  financial and operating stewardship for the Fort Hills leadership team, partners and Upstream business unit
  • Lead interactions with Revenue, Inventory, Royalty, and Capital Asset teams
  • Use technology and identify process improvements to increase the automation and efficiency of relevant processes and reports, including streamlining adjustments between Suncor’s share and the partnership books
  • Prepare  financial statements according to IFRS standards, including all the notes to the statements and supporting reconciliations and tables
  • Present financial statements to the audit committee, including coordination of  meetings and agendas
  • Manage relationship with external auditor
  • Coordinate the relationship with joint venture auditors
  • Handle the cash and bank accounts including accurate cash forecasting
  • Lead East Tank Farm and the Thebacha Limited Partnership accounting processes, from financial statement preparation to Audit Committee presentation
  • Lead the team through active design and implementation of Suncor’s plan to SAP S4

  • Knowledge of SAP, BW Reporting, PowerBI and Excel

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  •  You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
