The opportunity


The Canadian Gas Operations, Right-of-Way Management and Project Support team is seeking several experienced, focused and motivated engineer/technologist to join our team. In this role you will be supporting multiple TC Energy pipeline integrity management programs by performing various engineering and technical analysis of its Canadian pipeline systems. The individuals will work closely with multiple key internal and external stakeholders (i.e. technical Subject Matter Experts, Regulatory Compliance, Field Operations, external applicants).

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Gather and analyze data in support of assessing and quantifying integrity threats to the pipeline
  • Determine compliance to pipeline design requirements
  • Perform Engineering Studies to determine the continued safe operation of the pipeline 
  • Review and assess development applications to identify future remediation work
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to reach optimized solutions
  • Define high-level work scope for remediation projects
  • Provide technical support to other Pipeline Integrity Stakeholders as required
  • Develop and update integrity related operating procedures to support the continual improvement of TC Energy’s Pipeline Integrity Management Program 
  • Support program development and continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and enhance the quality of program deliverables
  • Perform design reviews for pipeline projects
  • Provide guidance to Engineers-in-Training and students

 

Qualifications and Education:

 

 Qualifications

 

Self-motivated individual with excellent work ethic and strong desire to learn and develop

Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills, with the proven ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Proven time management, prioritization and organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to problem solve by applying engineering principles and developing effective solutions

 

Education / Experience

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical diploma recognized by APEGA/ASET

Must be registered, or eligible to register for professional designation

Have a minimum of 4 years of engineering or equivalent experience

In-depth knowledge of applicable industry Codes, Standards and Regulations related to pipeline integrity (e.g. CSA Z662, NEB’s Onshore Pipeline Regulations and Damage Prevention Regulations) and experience in pipeline integrity would be considered an asset
