About our business

Our 92,600-kilometre (57,500-mile) natural gas pipeline network is positioned in two of the most prolific and lowest cost basins in North America - the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) and the Appalachian Basin. Our systems are well placed to meet the continent's growing demand for clean-burning natural gas by connecting the supply in these basins to important and growing markets across the continent. We supply more than 25 per cent of the clean-burning natural gas consumed daily across North America.

The Coastal GasLink natural gas pipeline project will run approximately 670 km (416 miles) in length. The proposed pipeline will safely deliver natural gas from the Dawson Creek area of northern B.C. to a facility near Kitimat, B.C., where it will be converted to a liquid form for export by LNG Canada. From there, it can be shipped to markets in Asia that are currently powered by coal-fired electricity - a significant source of greenhouse gases.

In addition to helping deliver cleaner energy to our planet, construction of this important line is projected to create between 2,000 and 2,500 jobs, generate property tax revenues and a give an economic boost to communities in northern B.C.
