Are you passionate about growing your financial acumen and expanding your business knowledge?   We want to talk to you! In this role, you will prepare and analyze the monthly financial stewardship reports and underlying financial transactions for our Edmonton Refinery.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Prepare financial transactions in order to produce accurate and timely financial reports and stewardship
  • Develop and analyze monthly results and provide variance comments to management
  • Build annual budgets, forecast and long term plans for the pipeline businesses 
  • Enforce to our finance and accounting policies
  • Manage work on ad-hoc projects

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Three years of experience coordinating and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual operating financial statements
  • A University degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Demonstrated skills with SAP modules such as financial accounting, materials management and controlling (FI, MM, CO)
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with finance and business stakeholders to drive business performance
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically in the downstream business
  • A professional designation in accounting or finance (CPA,CFA or MBA)
  • The ability to think critically and provide solutions to our key partners with regards to process improvements that will drive more value for our organization

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
