Do you have strong reporting and analytical skills combined with the ability to summarize data and extract a concise message? In this role, you will be responsible for monthly financial support, stewardship and planning for the Digital and Enterprise Technical (D&ET) team.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Effectively communicate financial performance, strategies and drivers to our stakeholders in leadership and finance, and assist with preparation and development of monthly performance management reports for them
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and clearly communicate findings
  • Interpret and translate complex issues and present the information to a non-technical audience
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly forecasts, budget and business planning deliverables presented to senior leaders
  • Design and implement improvements in performance reporting, planning processes and deliverables
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior staff and team members
  • Lead project support as required and respond to ad hoc queries
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry and market dynamics

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Seven or more years of relevant analytical experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, engineering, or other relevant education
  • Financial designation (CPA, CFA, or CA)
  • Proficient in Excel, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and social skills with the ability to build positive relationships
  • A proactive non-authoritative leadership style and the ability to influence, persuade and facilitate change
  • A solid understanding and comfort with financial and accounting principles
  • Proven analytical skills combined with high level of intellectual curiosity and capacity to communicate complex information into meaningful insights
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team-based environment that must deliver results within fixed reporting deadlines
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • A solid understanding of maintenance cost flow structure and performance
  • Experience and understanding of SAP, and Microsoft Power BI
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • Open-concept work environment
