You will use your expertise to: - Ensure health and safety is at the forefront of your work and comply with our guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Work with stakeholders to define and document architecture requirements in support of business initiatives
- Develop infrastructure patterns to facilitate development and operations (e.g. for Dev-Ops, micro service - API ecosystem)
- Maintain subject matter expertise on infrastructure technologies including operating systems, databases, networking, storage, virtualization, and software define capabilities including on-premise, cloud, hybrid, and their support
- Perform technology watch and promote the use of innovative technologies where applicable
- Build Proof of Concepts (POC) and Proof of Values (POVs) to deliver increased infrastructure reliability, agility and affordability, and provide leadership in these areas
- Manage and direct contractors hired to supplement the team
We’d like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (minimum requirements): - 10 years of experience in information technology with a background in technology architecture, technical support, solutions design, and project delivery
- Five years working experience in technology/infrastructure architecture including infrastructure as a service
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline
- Strong knowledge of a broad range of technologies including: Linux; Microsoft Windows; SQL and noSQL databases; networking; storage; security (e.g., AAA); virtualization; web/application desktops; telephony; cloud (IaaS, PaaS, e.g. OpenShift, SaaS); Software Defined Data Centres; and systems monitoring tools
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices (e.g., ITIL)
- Proven communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to advise and influence stakeholders and create collaborative partnerships
- A self-starter attitude and continuous learning mindset to keep abreast of digital changes and new technologies
- The ability to manage change with stakeholders

Preference for: Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information: - You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- Business travel (~20%) may be required to our office in Mississauga and to conferences/training
