You will use your expertise to: - Ensure the consistent application of Corporate Security policies, standards and requirements across all Suncor sites
- Act as the first point of contact for Corporate Security for all matters relating to security for your given site(s) or portfolio
- Report all security incidents and oversee an effective and timely incident response
- Analyze and identify evolving trends and behaviours that have the potential to compromise site security and prepare reports and recommendations to address these risks
- Work with the Operations group to determine the physical security requirements to address risk, increase productivity and lower costs
- Coordinate the design, installation, management, maintenance, repair and sustainment of security systems
- Oversee and provide guidance to contract guard force teams within your portfolio
- Provide assistance and support to Emergency Response Plans, and render assistance to Emergency Operations Centers and our Global Security Operations Center
We’d like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (minimum requirements): - Seven years of security experience gained in an industrial setting
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- Capability to obtain a secret level security clearance
- Superior computing skills specifically with SAP, Excel, and Microsoft Office programs
- Sound working knowledge of security program design, risk and threat assessment, security policy development, physical security design and crisis management planning
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, conflict management and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated, well-organized and a proven team player who exhibits a consistently positive attitude with attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently while handling multiple assignments simultaneously, establish priorities and meet schedules

Preference for: - Previous Oil and Gas experience
- Post-secondary studies in criminology, police studies, risk management or safety
- A security or related certification(s) e.g. Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
- Working knowledge of access control, alarm systems and video technology
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information: - You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way,
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- You must be prepared to travel to any operational site in the United States, Canada and internationally
