This role offers you the opportunity to enhance your Marketing and Category Management skills. You will get to identify opportunities and provide recommendations on product development and assortment, promotional campaigns, pricing decisions, and placement of products.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Oversee the review of vendor cost increases and recommend manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) increases based on margin analysis
  • Assist with movement and initial buy quantity forecast analysis on new listings and preparation of auto-distribution lists
  • Process new product listings, track promotional post-audit details, and conduct line pricing and margin analysis
  • Develop communications to share with stakeholders on program changes and launches
  • Assist with the management of the Associate Supplier Program (ASP)

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Current enrolment in 3rd or 4th year of a full-time Business degree at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

Preference for:

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to internal and external audiences
  • A self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset who is results oriented and motivated by accuracy
  • A questioning attitude to surface problems: you constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Downstream head office in Mississauga, located at 2489 North Sheridan Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This is a 4-month work term, from September 2019 to December 2019
