In our New Grad Program, you will gain a breadth of accounting experience as you rotate through different roles in our Finance organization. These roles will support you in achieving your CPA designation through our pre-approved program.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Analyze and prepare financial statements
  • Prepare monthly stewardship reports 
  • Support the forecast, budget and long-range planning processes
  • Complete and reconcile accounting entries
  • Prepare tax filings
  • Research and analyze tax and accounting issues and treatment
  • Participate in internal audits
  • Improve existing processes increasing organizational efficiency
  • Perform ad hoc and project support as required

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant education (with the ability and desire to proceed into the CPA program)
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Oil and gas experience as a co-op or student
  • Experience with SAP, SAP-BW, and Power BI Software
  • Proven continuous improvement mindset

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • Open-concept work environment
