In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and completion of corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance programs and repairs at our Montréal sulphur plant.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Ensure that the tasks performed comply with the sulphur plant's rules and regulations as it pertains to the health and safety (H&S) and the environment
  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair all equipment under the care and responsibility of the department
  • Carry out preventive maintenance, such as instrument calibration
  • Execute and document all maintenance activities and the maintenance process
  • Manage all related tasks assigned, such as monitoring confined spaces, providing first aid, or helping a colleague with a mechanical task
  • Collaborate with the plant's snow removal and de-icing efforts in wintertime when required
  • Request and track quotes from our suppliers as necessary
  • Comply with the electrical code

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Fluency in French (oral and written)
  • Two years of relevant work experience with knowledge of the maintenance of the various control instruments used for industrial chemical processes and the application of technical requirements and quality standards in the petrochemical sector
  • A post-secondary education in instrumentation and controls or the equivalent education in a related field
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Exceptional knowledge of current industry rules and practices in H&S
  • Strong knowledge of instrument programming procedures (Field Care software, ASM, etc.) and BMS systems
  • The ability to understand and analyze plot plans, diagrams, schematics and control logic
  • A familiarity with distributed control systems and the ability to adjust control loops
  • Strong proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions

Preference for:

  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Non-construction electrical licence

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work at our Montréal sulphur plant, located at 11450 Cherrier Street East
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • You will need to be available to work overtime outside of normal working hours, as required
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will need to use tools at your disposal to lift heavy loads on occasion
  • You will be required to work at heights on platforms or with mobile lifting equipment
  • You will have to work in a variety of environments, both indoor and outdoor, in confined spaces and at times with respiratory protective devices
