In this dynamic industry leading position, you will support the development of autonomous haul systems (AHS), the most innovative mining technology in the country, while offering technical mentorship to support our AHS needs from a systems perspective.

You will use your expertise to:

• Ensure the system health of the MMS Dispatch and FrontRunner systems using a dedicated approach and solve problems as necessary
• Lead and plan system upgrades in order to minimize impact to the operation
• Implement and sustain cyber security and redundancy measures to align with our standard methodologies
• Implement processes and procedures to maintain data quality while facilitating data transfers
• Work alignment between autonomous haul systems and staffed dispatch systems

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

• A degree in mine engineering or computer science 
• A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

• The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability
• A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace

Preference for: SAP:ENG

• Autonomous haulage systems and Komatsu FrontRunner application experience
• Mine automation experience with two or more years of experience administering mining fleet management system applications

• Automation application management and administration experience outside of mining will be considered 

• Working knowledge of SQL programming and database architecture

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

• You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
• If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
