Instructor, Civil Technology (Term) Civil Engineering Technology Position Location: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB) Part-Time, Term Position Available Anticipated Start March 1, 2019 An eligibility list may be created for similar casual, part-time, full-time, and term positions Red River College is a leader in applied learning and innovation. Duties: Duties will include: course preparation, delivery, and student evaluation, the development and maintenance of course outlines, lesson plans, assignments, tests and examinations. The successful candidate will also participate in department and college committees, assist in department and college activities, and develop/modify curriculum to reflect current industry needs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution - Experience in teaching statics, strength of materials, and/or structural analysis or design - Experience in curriculum and/or program development - Experience with learning management sites - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Effective Interpersonal skills - Effective leadership skills - Ability to work independently with minimum supervison as well as within a team environment - Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Commitment to lifelong learning ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in Civil Engineering - Experience in teaching in a secondary or post-secondary environment - Experience in curriculum and/or program development - Experience in teaching statics, strength of materials, and/or structural analysis or design - Experience in tutoring, developing and delivering workshops supporting student success - Experience with Colleague or other college management software - Certificate in Adult Education CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada - This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends - Instructors are required to complete a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) | |
