Regional Controller

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

• Key member of the Regional Leadership Team responsible for strategy
• Key liaison and financial adviser to Regional team in establishing controls, budgets and performance metrics 
• Work alongside the Regional VP in developing results oriented business plans, cost saving initiatives and bid submissions to ensure the future growth and profitability of the operating unit
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with operating unit
• Manage full cycle accounting function, which includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and general ledger reconciliation
• Steward monthly accounting procedures to ensure financial activities are captured and reported in accordance with Company policies and GAAP
• Review and analyse monthly financial statements to ensure the timeliness and integrity of the business unit's financial results
• Prepare and communicate month-end reporting package
• Develop, implement and monitor control and process improvement initiatives within the operating unit
• Support year end audit requirements
• Assist in financial system design and implementation
• Assist in integrations and other special project work as required 

Role Specifications 

• Business diploma or University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required
• A professional accounting designation - CPA (preferred), CMA or CGA is required
• 7+ years progressive accounting related experience in a management capacity
• Advanced knowledge of accounting and control practices is a must
• Knowledge of oil and gas, energy or industrial service industries an asset
• Exposure to a "daily field capture" system would be an asset
• Strong computer skills - Financial/Project Accounting applications - ERP experience would be an asset, Excel, Word, Outlook
