Contractually Limited Appointment, Assistant Professor in Studio Art


The School of the Arts at McMaster University invites applications for a one-year contractually limited appointment in Studio Art at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have an MFA or PHD and demonstrated record of effective teaching in Studio Art at the university level. The specific areas of teaching expertise are: ART 3D03 (T1) Practical Issues, ART 2IS3 (T1) Independent Studio, ART 1SI3 (T1) Studio Investigations, ART 3GS6 b (T2) Guided Studio, ART 3ID3 Integrated Dimensional Media (T1), and two sections of ART 1TI3 (T2) Understanding Images and technology. The successful candidate will contribute to administrative work including portfolio interviews and recruitment events. 


The studio program at McMaster is committed to promoting a safe studio environment where environmental responsibility is integrated into daily practice. The faculty complement is small and team-focused working to deliver an integrated studio program. We are seeking individuals with an interest in collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches and a desire to connect with community.
