Deadline to Apply: November 30,2018 The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position, at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2019, subject to final budgetary approval. The area of specialization is French/Francophone Studies (literature, culture, film) with an open specialization. Qualifications • Completed (or by July 2019) a PhD in French/Francophone Literature or similar field • Ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs • High-quality teaching, strong research profile and emerging scholarly record • Manifest a clear capacity for collegial service • Innovative and dynamic who will develop and enhance appropriate curricular offerings and commit to help strengthen French program • Generalist profile and expertise in areas of Francophone Studies • Demonstrate enthusiasm, innovation, and excellence in teaching • Area of specialization is open (ie: colonial/postcolonial studies, Francophone African diaspora of the Caribbean, the Black Atlantic, and other related fields) • French business or French for specific purposes is a plus; advanced training in Second Language Acquisition is desirable, as is significant experience in teaching and in effectively addressing diversity in curricula and the classroom Responsibilities • Engage in teaching, research and service duties • Teach and supervise at undergraduate and graduate levels • Contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs • Establish/maintain strong, independent, externally-funded research • Participate in the academic life and service activities | |
